Physical Therapy

Pediatric Physical Therapy is concerned with the examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and intervention of children who are experiencing functional limitations or disability due to trauma, developmental disorders, or disease process.

Physical Therapists can also evaluate the need for orthotic intervention and medical equipment (wheelchairs/walkers) needs and/or adaptations.Children who need physical therapy may have difficulties with ambulation, positioning, attention, cognition, and/or motor function. Intervention is crucial for children to help them keep up with their peers and become independent members of their families.

Treatment incorporates improving developmental skills, motor planning, manipulation skills, balance, sensory systems and/or coordination using a play-centered approach.
